Totally Bummed

Totally Bummed!
One of those I hate my life moments.
Until then.

Bridesmaid Gifts

Bridesmaids are there to support and assist the bride. Wouldn't it be nice if you can give something in return? In our place, it's not customary to give bridesmaid gifts. Now, why not make something unusual. Think of shawls or scarves. These are the perfect accessories for any season or occasion. Your money will be worth it because they can use it after the wedding and they will surely remember your special day.

Bejeweled

I was never into jewelries but when I discovered that it can make or break your outfit, I gave in and buy me some until I got addicted to it. I am not into expensive ones though. In fact I prefer to have handcrafted jewelry and those that has an antiquated effect on it. I go for earrings and necklaces but if the occasion calls for it, I like to have some oh so cool bracelets or bangles.

What's in a Name?

For eons, people argue on why name matters a lot. In Shakespeare's "Romeo & Juliet," the feud between the Montagues and the Capulets has led into one of the most disastrous love story of all time. In our place, I've seen a lot of relationships go down the drain just because of family names. You know, the typical "one shouldn't marry the other upon knowing that he's the great-great-great-great-granddaughter of a man who's family name has brought them shame." Tell me, do you like your name? Well, I do. In fact, I have done a lot of googling to seek it's real meaning. You can see it here.

I once thought of having myself renamed. I want a unique one because I've always thougth that Irma is very common. Celebrities are known to have given their kids bizaare names. Talk about Apple Martin, Peanut Kai, Sunrise, Sunset, Peaches Honeyblossom, Tu Morrow, etc. They're cute but there should always be a limit. If I were to have a child and I am a celebrity then I have the right to name my kid Lemonade because it is my fave drink. hahaha. Poor kid!

Consider this story from New Zealand. One girl is actually named TALULA DOES THE HULA FROM HAWAII. mrgreen Okay, you can stop laughing now. Strange isnt it? Her parents must be hippies or totally stoned when they chose the name. Man! Parents can be pretty mean sometimes. In our country, rude nicknames are common but real names are chosen well. So what about you? What are the names of your babies? Have you chosen a name for your baby already? I know I have but the question is, when will I be having a baby. hahahaha. If you haven't then here's a list of unusual names. Remember though, there's always a limitation. Think of a name that your kid won't find difficult to write in grade school. mrgreen

MizUnderstood

Everybody is. I know you've been through a lot of misunderstood moments in your life. I am not an exception. In fact, the word existed because of me (exagg). In my world, I think that I am the most misunderstood person. Now that I don't have anything else to do, I stumbled upon this quiz which identifies whether you are disturbingly profound or profoundly disturbing. I know that these quizzes are just for fun but hey, when I get to read the result, it had me thinking that this could be right. Here's my result.

You Are Disturbingly Profound

You're contemplative, thoughtful, and very intense.

Taking time to figure out the meaning of life is a priority for you.

Because you're so introspective, you often react in ways that surprise people.

No one can really understand how you are on the inside... and that disturbs them.

This is just one of the many ways of helping you guys understand me better. I will be writing more about me soon because I've realized that I've just celebrated my anniversary in the blogosphere and I'm new to reaching out to a lot of bloggers and they don't have any idea what & who I am yet. So, this is my blog and this is going to be all about me. mrgreen

Enough Already!

A year ago, I got really sick. I was hospitalized for a couple of months and even after all those treatments, my recovery lasted for a year and more. The diagnosis? Kidney infection. The cause? a brutal lifestyle. You know, eating a lot of unhealthy foods, skipping meals, and then there's drinking and smoking which I do occasionally until I lost control of it. I was never addicted though, but you can't say that two or three sticks a day is on an occasional basis. I never knew how important each organ in our body is until then. However, there are shallow people and downright stupid if I may say. The typical i-told-you-so faces haunts me until now. They wanted to like spit on my face because they thought that-- that i-want-to-die-moment-of-my-life was caused by my stupid attempt to loose weight. Oh, Puhleasse! Skipping meals! Now, tell me? Where's the logic in that? Mind you, skipping meals for me is having brunch. I only skipped breakfast you pieces of shit. Now, a friend of mine is currently under an unidentifiable state and she refuses to eat. In fact, when some of my previous colleagues refuses to eat, my friends always go like "you should eat or else you'll end up like mimi." Gee, you guys might as well go to some medical society and ask if they can do the honors of making my name an official disease. Argh! Enough already!

My Bestfriend's Wedding

Finally, they've tied the knot. We went to Pinamungajan (southern Cebu) last Friday to witness Jenalyn & Ramil's wedding. Also, we're part of the entourage, so we were all excited about it. Tempus fugit! Last time I remember, we were really busy trying to figure out what gown should she wear, same as choosing which gown should we wear. Although there were some delays due to minor adjustments in the gowns, nothing can stop these two. We had fun and glad to see our besftriend have her dream wedding. If she's happy then so are we. We love you bes bes!

For Busy Moms

My mother is a teacher so I had the opportunity to be tutored at home and be nurtured with a lot of knowledge. These days, a number of mothers are busy with office jobs that they rarely had time to tutor their kids. If you are one of them and if you think your kid needs some tutoring? Then you should check out Club Z! Tutoring Services. The company offers the best one-on-one program. In fact, their record has come a long way, having helped 100,000 students improve their grades and improve their skills to name a few.

Smiley Smiley Me!

We watched "Mamma Mia" earlier and all I can say is "WOHOOO!" The film was great just as I expect it to be. Man, I wish we didn't choose the last full show so that I can watch it over and over again. Anyway, there's always the reliable de-be-de. hahaha. Meryll Streep was great so was Amanda Seyfried. I don't wanna spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet. Be sure you'll get to watch it on the big screen though. It is goin to be worth it.

For now, I have to upload a gazillion of ABBA songs into my ipod. Just to make sure I'll be in good company for our out-of-town trip this weekend. razz

Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight, won't somebody help me chase the shadows away... hmmm, hmmm, hmmm (fades) mrgreen

A Luggage for the Frequent Traveler

I've always been wanting to travel from one place to another. Sometimes, I dream about hitting two places in a day. I know that it is possible granted that I have the money for it. Sadly I don't. However, for the frequent traveler, I have just the right suggestion for you. Have you guys heard about Zero Halliburton briefcases. If not then you should have one. Why? Because these briefcases can withstand major abuse. You don't need to worry about its contents because it has been proven and tested under difficult circumstances. Worried about the design? Zero Halliburton is exluded from other bulky looking luggages. In fact, it comes with different designs to fit individuals with different personality. So go and get one today.

This Pissed Me Off!

You guys familiar with urbandictionary? Basically it is a dictionary of slang words. The catch is, definitions are submitted by just about anybody. There are some that makes sense but there are other definitions that are so outta-this-world. We make use of this dictionary because our job involves slang words and we have to make sure that the word is not offensive. So while fighting boredom at the office, I've decided to search for the word "FILIPINA" and my God! I had the most shocking experience in my entire life (exagg). Really now, read this:

4. filipina

Usually referring to a filipina who is looking for to date and marry men only outside their race. Their top priority is a white man, then follows others. They're usually the ugliest and least intelligent Asians. However, they are good cooks. The girls are highly trained to trap a man. Their mothers are great at nagging. Usually materialistic and will try to look "white-washed" as possible by dying their hair blonde.

Now isn't it very atrocious? Puhleasse. My idea is that this man or whoever submitted this definition has had a bad experience with a Filipina. But, there's a big BUT here. The word FILIPINA should not be used as such. I know that a few are guilty of playing with a foreigner's heart. Sad but true. But hey, prototyping is a crime. For me that is. Because dahling, I am a FILIPINA.

I know that half of the people in my blogroll are married to foreigners. So fellow bloggers, help me drag this definition down to history. You see, definitions are rated by users. The moment you go to the site, give this definition and all the others that are rude a thumbs down. If we fight for this together, the right definition will end up in the top. You can only rate the definition once but if we can make Jasmine Trias gather lotsa votes in American Idol then why can't we bring this asshole down. Take note: you can also comment on the definition. If you want to bombard the creator with Spanish swear words that you got from your great great grandmother then be my guest. Let me know if you have rated this definition. I have just given it a thumbs down just now.

Ink Pen Collection

When I was in grade school, I had this vast collection of ink pens. I love cartoons so I have almost all of the Disney characters from princesses to villains, name it I've got it. Somehow, when I got older, I've lost count as to how many pens I own. I have misplaced many and I regretted it because those pens might become a source of income if in case it is a one-of-a-kind piece or if it is a limited release in my time and some collector might be willing to pay money for it. Sheesh! I should've known better. So to all those who are fond of collecting items, take care of it. Who knows? It might be your ticket to a better life.

Reunion

One of my bestfriends came home from Dubai last week because...she's getting married. Yep! time flies too fast that I am still in a daze until now. I can't believe one of us is finally tying the knot. Then again, I know that she's ready for it. After all she's been through, I'm happy that she's finally made her stand. So, it was an instant reunion for us (although the barkada was not complete yet). I didn't know that preparing a wedding can be exciting. heheheh. Choosing the gowns is pretty cool though. I can feel the jitters already, I wonder what the bride feels. hahahaha. So anyway, less talk and more pictures. There's more to come two weeks from now. That's the big day! Whew!

Hello Stranger!

This just in, remember the stranger I mentioned in my previous post? Well, I found out that everything he told me were full of BS. So, was I mad? Nope, In fact, I feel like being challenged and I loooove challenges. mrgreen

Hmmmm, the meanie me inside is trying to get out! Now, he's invited us again to go out this weekend. Well-la-de-da! I can smell revenge coming. (chuckle) Well, I'm not good at it, let's just say that two can play in this game. wink

Wish me luck! wink

They say that never do something that you'll regret in the end. So, this time, I'm gonna regret it first because I'm definitely gonna do it. hahaha.
Revenge is often like biting a dog because the dog bit you.

Good Day Turned Bad

Whew! That was a tough week. I spent my weekend at the office (live in the office to be exact) thus my absence from blogging. Anyway, although it was quite late, I was able to celebrate my blog's anniversary with my friend Ady and my niece Ging2. The latter has become a "kuyog baboy." mrgreen She's with me wherever I go and I like it because I am sometimes referred to as her older sister and that I look like 21 or 19. (cough)

Then one night, we went clubbing. I got a lil' tipsy wasted because I was so tired yet I still went out. hahah. So, the usual, drink, dance, drink. Then later on, we were joined by three teenagers(take note of the teen) hahah. Due to the power of alcohol, I never bothered to check them out and I let them join our circle. This is not like me because I usually snarl (like a lioness) at strangers. (yep, that explains my singlehood, hahah)

But nooo, I danced my heart out to this total stranger who they later on told me was a hottie. wahahaha. I never bothered then because he was fun to be with. Although we we're already shouting at each other, we were sharing jokes and I actually like it. I think he's the first one who made me laugh after a century of being timid. mrgreen It was really fun. I am getting to like the idea of this concept I've read online. You see, I thought that falling in love with a stranger happens in fairy tales but hey, take a look at this.

how to fall in love
  • Find a complete stranger.

  • Reveal to each other intimate details about your lives for half an hour.

  • Then, stare deeply into each other’s eyes without talking for four minutes.

Well, I haven't fallen in love with him yet and I haven't actually shared intimate details. mrgreen Still, that was the very first time I feel safe with a total stranger. Too bad we never had a staring contest because we were both intoxicated. To prove that we were really drunk that night, he texted me days after and ask which one was I. hahahaha. Bad trip! We were equal though because until now I can't still remember how he looks like. My friends say that he's cute but I still can't see his face no matter how hard I try. I guess I'll just have to stick with Channing Tatum for now. hahahaha

Mental!

For the Man of the House

I know that we've just celebrated Father's Day but it is never too late to give the man of the house a gift right? Typically, men like to explore new things. From building your own cabanas to setting up intricate garden lighting. Men are good when it comes to these things. However, this does not mean that we, women can't do it. But for the sake of the almost dead chivalry, men are often pressured to do such tasks. So, to make their house tasks more convenient, why not give them a set of air tools. I am sure they will be real happy for it.
