Ingratitude, Stupidity, aargh!!!

Caution: rant ahead!!!!

What a way to start my day, I mean end my day. I just got off from work this morning and when I checked my Friendster account, I saw one particular Bulletin Post that totally burst my bubble. This has been going on for quite some time. I ignored the previous posts although it is quite obvious that she is referring it to us. I'm talking about my cousin. My $##&^(*^*& cousin. Dang! talk about being dumb and being ungrateful. I know! Yes, I shouldn't talk about my cousin this way considering that she is my first cousin. Then again, in a family, there is always the black sheep. Take note, she does like to be called a black sheep. I wonder if she understands such term. Clearly, she was blinded by her mother's make believe stories. She was brainwashed! Her mother, my Aunt, my Mother's sister, totally changed her into a new person. We used to be cool friends. We hang out together. I don't really know what happened. You see, it all started when she was told to pay for the rent in our apartment. After that, poof! Everything has changed. Oh, so what do you expect? Free boarding? WTF! Freeloading is good but only for a short span of time but forever? You gotta be kidding me. I have done everything to help her. My sister even paid for her rent for a couple of months or three. I even gave her a share of my online job so as to help her because I know that she is earning only above minimum and believe me, you can hardly survive in the city with that salary and with her kind of lifestyle. All she wants is just to splurge on things that are unnecessary. Heck! She even shops more than I do. Now, what do I get in return for all the things I've done? Nothing! She even had the nerve to talk back. Though our age gap is only a year, I think that I deserve some respect. Ugh! the ingratitude. Now, she is announcing to the whole friendster network that she is finally transferring to a new house. But wait! she hasn't paid for this month's rent yet. Oh dear, I hope my intuitions are wrong. I have the feeling that she's planning to run away with it. Now, tell me. What will you do if you have a cousin like this? What? Because I am just holding my temper right now and I haven't been in a fight in my entire life and she's bigger than me. So, I guess I'll have to drop the idea of catfight huh? Man! This is what you get when you are the older one in the house. **&^$%$#%$#

Gratefulness is the key to a happy life that we hold in our hands, because if we are not grateful, then no matter how much we have we will not be happy -- because we will always want to have something else or something more.

The Sweetest Proposal

It's 2 AM and I'm not sleepy yet and so I go on stumbling around the Net until I found this article:
Normal people have used many things, from flower to food, to hide the ring in an effort to surprise their love. But none of us were clever enough to do what a geeky programmer came up with: hid the ring in a program. Peng, a 26 year old software engineer, spent a month painstakingly reprogramming her girlfriend’s favorite game Bejeweled, and waited for her to reach a certain level. When his girlfriend Tammy Li got to the score she was greeted with the marriage proposal and the jewels were arranged to form a ring. Twenty seven year old Li thought it was a pleasant surprise and said yes. That is how real programmers bejewel their love ones. They plan to reach the final level on Labor Day weekend and get married. Unlike most cases when the game companies frown on anyone who reprograms, PopCap, the maker of Bejeweled, is supporting Peng on this romantic expression. They are even planning for wedding gifts that include $1,000 jewel themed decoration and honeymoon help by giving them air tickets to Seattle. source

I was so impressed with the guy's efforts. As a programmer by heart, not by profession (hahaha), I know how hard it is to modify a program. Dang! I wish I was that girl. *sigh Isn't it the sweetest proposal ever? But, what if the girl is not that good in the game? I bet it would take months for her to reach that certain level huh? Then again, they were both geeks, I think and I heart geeks. wink

Welcoming the Rainy Season

It's been raining for two consecutive days now to think that June is still a month away. Hmm, talk about unpredictable weather. Almost all of my co-mods are sick and I'm scared I might get the virus too since we are in a big room of glass. I think we will all have to file sick leaves and make use of our health insurance.twisted hahah. Anyway, we are situated inside the server room so imagine us like fishes in an aquarium and it's very cold. dang!

If it rains it pours and considering the poorly constructed roads of Cebu, I suggest you be very careful when skipping on puddles or you might end up like this:

It Has Been a Long Day

Dead tired! That's what I feel right now. I have been up for 24 hours and working. mrgreen There's a big difference you know, if you're up for a long time doing nothing then that's fine but working? Dang! Why am I doing this again? I totally forgot. Oh yeah I remember, I swapped skeds with the other team just so I can tag along with my friends to Moalboal. hihihi. I wonder if I can make it to that day. *sigh Anyway, a picture paints a thousand words right? This is how I look right now:

Digital Signal Processors & CISCO

Do you often wonder how are voices are being transferred throughout computer networks? If so, then you should know more about Digital Signal Processors (DSP). DSPs are the key components of an IP Telephony Solution. It converts our voices from digital to analog as it travels across an IP network. But, the role of a DSP is not limited to conversion when we talk about CISCO IP Telephony solution. Within this network, the DSP can do trans-coding, conferencing, and media termination point and voice termination via the Public Switched Telephone Network. If you wish to know more about this topic then I highly recommend this blog. For those who have taken CISCO training already, visiting the blog I've mentioned might help you more. It offers a lot of tips and information so go visit that blog right now.

One Exciting Night @ the Office

This is why I heart graveyard shifts, I can do whatever I want. It was around 3 am and I'm on my way to Bore Land when I remembered that I've brought my cam along. So, you guess it right, major cam whoring.razz The cam's flash will keep you awake alright and to top it up, my team leader was asleep, so I get to shoot some silly ones without looking pretty stupid. Then around 5 am, there was a power outage. Ha! Boy, talk about surprises. It was really dark and I was hoping that some white lady will appear or a floating candle perhaps. mrgreen Much to my dismay, nothing peculiar really happened. So here are some of the pics:

try visiting my multiply page too. wink

You've Gotta See This!

I have just seen the two-part movie adaptation of an anime-manga series entitled "Death Note." This has been around some time last year but it took me long to get to watch it. When I did, I was so hooked. I can watch it over and over again without getting bored. The Japanese really have wild imaginations and I like it.
Death Note (デスノート Desu Nōto) is a Japanese manga series created by writer Tsugumi Ohba and illustrator Takeshi Obata. The series centers around a high school student who discovers a supernatural notebook that allows him to kill anyone by writing the victim's name and picturing his face. The plot follows his attempt to create and lead a world cleansed of evil using the book, and the complex conflict between himself and those assailing him that results.

The three major characters are Light, L, and Misa Aname. Light was the first owner of the Death Note until he gets megalomaniac. L is a genius and weird. I like him. I've been practicing his antics now. hahah. Misa is blinded by her love to Light that she has helped him plan everything out. Also, the animated death Gods are so cool. I like Ryaiku coz he likes apples. mrgreen The animation was awesome. Misa owned the other Death Note because a Death God loves her. Talk about, wicked twists. hihihi. Indeed, with great power comes with great responsibility. To think that Light is willing to write down the name of his father in the notebook just to have his powers back. Tsk Tsk. I tell you, this is the best movie I've seen so far. Up next, Full Metal Alchemist and I think I should take Nihonngo classes. razz

I'm Vaackk!

I know, don't say it! I can't live without blogging. HA! On hiatus kuno, but after a few days, I'm back. tsk tsk tsk. Guess I'm a certified blog addict na. So, what have I been doing for the past 48 years? (translation: 2 days mrgreen) A lot!

1. Video hunting - I've been trying to look for a video regarding the "Black Suede" scandal which has happened some time ago (last year to be exact) but is now gaining popularity because of that said video. Don't tell me you haven't heard about it. Well, to sum it up. The video shows the removal of a perfume canister (Black Suede) out from the gay's arse. I'll leave you and you're imagination on how it ended up inside his body. So, as always- there were a lot of suggestions and violent reactions. Try googling it up. All I can say is, shame on you guys, it's not even funny and why would they let someone bring camera phones inside the operating room in the first place? Anyway, I found a video (not the original one), view it here if you want. You can find the original one if you use the following keywords in Youtube - cebu, black suede, scandal. Good luck though since sys admin is removing every video minutes after it is uploaded. I have just seen it right now but I know it won't be available for long. Ka-uwaw, to think that I'm from Cebu. *sigh

2. Job hunting - online jobs to be exact. After 50 years of weighing things, I've decided to just look for other jobs while I'm still waiting for my boss who I think must be in another planet right now. sad Wish me luck though.

3. Blog hopping - yep, been through a lot of blogs lately and I had fun. I've realized that it's a Big Bloody Blogging World out there. I've learned a lot of things, been terrified, shocked, and laughed at things you can't imagine being posted on the net for the world to see. Then again, it's a free world. The blogs I frequent most are from gays. I don't know about you but I love gays, they're artistic and fun to be with. Heck, I have a lot of gay friends that straight ones and now they're blogging. Awesome! *pahabol, I forgot to say that it's a biased blogging world too. hahaha. Why? Because I signed up for this portal for Bisayan Bloggers and up to now, I haven't been approved yet. Bisaya intawn ko oi. hihihi.

4. Thinking about Migrating - yes, the dreaded word. My cousin in NZ told me that she is willing to spend some moola for me to go there but as a yaya to her kid. Now, I'm confused. I know that a lot of people go to other countries for "greener pastures." NZ has a lot of greener pastures alright! hihi. Hmmm, should I go or not? I know when I get there, I can find other jobs but dang, someone or something is stopping me from doing it or I am letting it stop me. hahaha. Pero ang hirap, mahal ko ang Pinas bsan mahal ang bugas. sad by the way highway, three days na, wa pa mahurot ako load. hihihihi. It's a miracle! mrgreen

Full Moon

Magaling! Magaling! Magaling! hihihi. Don't wanna translate that. I just wanna congratulate myself for surviving 48 years without blogging. Ha!
For the very first time in my life, I lost the passion to write. Why? Hmm, I have a few reasons.

1. full moon- I know that I'm a lunatic. hihi. When it's full moon, expect me to be so ecstatic. I laugh at senseless things, i laugh a lot. But this full moon, I'm the very exact opposite. I am grumpy, lazy, hot-headed, name it. It's not even my hormones.

2. God- I think that he's taking it away from me. My passion in everything that I do. Why? Well, I am forgetting all my Catholic obligations (again) I can't even remember the last time I went to church. There are reasons for this too and it's too personal to talk about it here.

3. My mom- she's been asking money lately and it pains me for being unable to give it to her. I only have enough for myself this time because my @$@&% boss has gone to oblivion.

4. Freelance job- I've been thinking about it lately. You see, when you've been doing all your best and your boss fails to see it, you can't help but think about giving it the boot. There must be a lot of opportunities out there right? But I dunno if I should give this up. PUT-o kutsinta! Ugh! Decisions! Decisions! I am so effing confused.

5. Regularization- I am now a regular employee (yey!) and our team is making history. Where else can you find a company that doesn't offer a salary increase upon regularization? sigh! Talk about bad timing.

6. I think I need a boyfriend. That way, I can have someone to terrorize all my mood swings with. (evil laugh)

7. My cousin- we're not in good terms right now. We're not talking and we share a room. The sound of silence remake indeed. I used to be so nice. I forgive people easily but when it comes to ingratitude, beliefs could change.

Hmmm, I did say few reasons right? But I reached 7, so scratch that and make it MANY REASONS. In fact, I have to disregard other reasons 'coz I dont wanna make this post long considering that the average attention span of readers is 1 second. hahaha.

hahay! I think the toughie mimay will be taking a sabbatical. Adto ko colon magpatid-patid lata. That is if I can keep myself from bloggin. Wish me luck!

Introducing Batman err Superman

Saw this on StumbleUpon and I want to share a good laugh with you guys. Isn't it amazing to be named after two of the most faved superheroes of all time?

In Singapore, all given names are translated into English when issuing a Birth Certificate. On May 13, 1990, this young man was given the following document which changed his life. He's famous now. hahaha.
mrgreen

I wonder if he's more of a Bruce Wayne type or Clark Kent?

How Destructive Are You?

I found this article while Stumbling and I wanna share it here. Come to think of it. You'd be surprised.

Here are the top 7 most destructive habits that people have:

1. Sleep deprivation - Sleep deprivation can have serious effects on your health in the form of physical and mental impairments. Long term deprivation from sleep will accelerate the death of brain cells. In fact, sleep is so important to our overall health that total sleep deprivation has been proven to be fatal.

2. Lacking in stimulating thoughts - The brain is a muscle and it can atrophy if you do not take good care of it. Thinking is the greatest way to train our brain.

3. Negative thinking - Negative thinking is counterproductive, self-defeating thinking that makes you feel worse, see things in a worse light, and act in ways that often interfere with goals.

4. Waste of time - The key of productivity is about having goals, making plans, and having diligence. And the only way to achieve any of these productivity methods is by having effective habits.

5. Give up easily - By quitting too easily, we never have a chance of gaining mastery over anything and therefore never truly reaping anything of value for ourselves.

6. Excessive pride - Pride destroys capacity for life, love, and happiness.
The arrogant person rejects authority.

7. Dependence - drug, alcohol, smoking. Need I say more?

Really now, I know I won't live long because I am guilty of the very first habit - sleep deprivation. *sigh

Women of the Haus

I've mentioned my nieces in the previous post and I remembered that I have just updated my desktop wallpaper. Just wanna share it here.

Click on it for a bigger photo. Paula & Jessalyn are my nieces. Marrah is my cousin. We're not in good terms right now and the candle wick is slowly getting shorter. Anyway, what can you say? Beauty runs in the blood huh? Am I right or Am I right? mrgreen

I created the wallpaper at scrapblog.com. Give it a try. They've got cool and awesome templates or you can test your creativity by making your own. It's free.

Am I a Bad Influence?

I live with my two nieces who are still in college. As their aunt I have to set a good example. I am! I act their age. haha. Really now. I've been thinking lately that I have become my mother. I am a bit strict, scratch that, make it very strict - especially when it comes to boys. mrgreen Then I told myself that I shouldn't unless I want them to be antiquated which is the path I'm taking now. *wink.

So girls, I want you to know that you can have boyfriends now. I don't want you guys to end up like me. hihi. I've been into a relationship once and it was after college. It was great but shortlived. Don't believe in the saying that boys will be lining up on your doorsteps after college because right after graduation I focused entirely on our doorstep and nobody came. hahaha. Well, there were a few but they never seem to please me. Call me fussy and all but should I say yes to a guy who doesn't even know simple grammar or to a guy who is not aware how big his head is? Yeah right. I attract the worst kind. The important thing is that you feel safe, secure and on cloud 9 when with him. I am a bit old school when it comes to this stuff. I look for sparks and flying colors. Believe me, it happens. Make a checklist and after doing such, allow me to do my own evaluation. Let us see if they can pass my standards. hihihihilol

Ewan!

I like the title, only fellow Filipinos know what it means but to my foreign readers(i like to assume i got one, hihi) this is read as "yu-an." Anyway, ewan means "I dunno" or something like that. It's like saying "duh" when you don't know exactly what to say when asked and of course the classic "AMBOT" in Bisaya.mrgreen

So why ewan? well, as you all know. I've been gone for quite sometime. I was not in a hiatus mind you, I've been blogging offline. I was just merely observing and yes I've been busy. Busy convincing myself that I can never have him back. Yeah, it's that love thing again. *sigh. I may be a fast learner but when it comes to matters of the heart, ewan! So what did I do for the past few days? Well, I had a lot of diversions but it never worked out well, so while STILL thinking about that lucky son-of-a-gun, I engaged myself into fighting vampires, slayers, and zombies. twisted I'm talking about Facebook. They have this application that really got me hooked, I'm on level 3 now and I can't wait to bite more peeps and fight other vampires to reach the next level. On the other hand, I was also busy flirting. hihihi. Yep, I'm a certified flirt on facebook. hahaha. I saw this uber cute man. You know, the usual man of my dreams type; tall, dark, effing handsome and dangerously hot. My friends may not see him the way I do but when I saw his smile, my knees became jello-ish and there were sparks and stars everywhere (exagg)razz . hihi. Cheesy I know! A brilliant idea even came to mind. hihi. I was really and I mean really tempted to tell him to be a sperm donor. hahaha. Ano to? Anakan mo ako version? hihihi. Silly silly thoughts.

Oh well, I'm back and oh before I forget, I want to thank those people who continue to visit this site even if I've gone bonkers. hihi. Thnx you guys! I can see that you've been wanting to see some new stuff here and unfortunately nothing is new yet. hihihi. So, stay tuned...

Nightmarish

i saw you last night
in my dreams you were holding me tight
it was so real
not even a flashback

i thought i'm over you
then again who am i kidding?
you are going to be a part of my life
i'll just have to live with it

but boy does it hurt so bad
now i know how much i still want you
then again that won't be possible
you will always be mine, but only when i sleep

I know it sounds lousy and pathetic but really, I dreamt about that guy (again). This is actually a spur-of-the-moment thing since I'm kinda hesitant if I should jot it down. But hey, it healthy to wear you heart on your sleeves sometimes right? I feel so emo right now, hmmm, must be my hormones again. *sigh Yeah it's my hormones alright unless there's an explanation to my unstoppable urge to listen to cheesy music. *sob

This Made My Day Night

I have to do some major research tonight sad. Got bored so guess what I'm up to? Stumbling again. hahaha. Yep, I am a certified StumbleUpon addict and this picture really and I mean really made me laugh out loud rolling on the floor with tears in my eyes. hihihi. Yeah, shallow! shallow! Me. mrgreen

*yeah yeah, it's shopped but who cares? razz

Fashion Fetish

It's a week before payday and I'm itching to buy summer clothing right now because it's sooooo effing hot. I have to endure the heat in my room because I cannot just unplug my PC and bring it downstairs 'coz it's going to be one hell of a task. Sheesh, I know I should've bought a notebook. Too late. *sigh

Anyway, I don't know if it's just me or everybody feels this. You know, just when payday is just around the corner, malls are on sale and you really really want to buy one thing only to find out that it's sold-out already once your money is available. Soooo frustrating. I don't have a credit card and even though I had some plans, I've been greatly discouraged by my friends since it will lead you to bankruptcy. HA!

So, instead of mourning over this not so monster of a problem, I've decided to just window shop online. I'm going live window shopping later 'coz it's still scorching effing hot outside. I'm into bohemian fad right now and all I want is a maxi dress and a pair of gladiator sandals (the one with minimal straps). I found some in multiply but they're out of stock. dang! No worries for the accessories though since I know where's the best place to find one. I'm sooooo craving for these. *sob

Sigh! Anybody want to loan me some money? hahahah. Kidding. Patience! Patience! For now, I'll just have to imagine myself in this dress. hahaha.

Way To Go Mariah

Have you heard the news? Just recently, Mariah Carey's newest single "Touch My Body" surpassed Elvis Presley's record for the most No.1 singles on the Billboard Singles chart. That made her second only to the Beatles. The song is also No.1 in the digital download category. Presley must be rolling over his grave now. hihihi.

Talk about how fast history changes. Just last night, I've read that MC is sharing the No.2 spot with Elvis and just this morning she just made Elvis move one step below. hahaha. I am a big fan of MC, long before I found out that her nickname is Mimi. hahah. Way to go Mariah! More about this here.

Icebreaker

Isn't it funny how you always talked about how you like writing and then when you are in front of your PC ready to jot down all your thoughts and then POOF! It became COCO CRUNCH. hihihi. Really now, I am in this situation right now. I want to update this blog and I've got like a thousand ideas in mind but when I am on it everything just blow out of proportions. *sigh!

Well, good thing I installed a StumbleUpon toolbar. I found some cool sites to break the ice.

Try this one, click on the people to make them sing and you will surely get hooked. It's like making your own music recording, in a way. Here's the screenshot:

You can also try this if you are into instruments. Click on the person to make him play, click again to stop. This is my favorite coz it makes me feel like dancing. Try experimenting too, the ideas are endless. Here's the screenshot so that if the page does not look like this then something's wrong with my link because I am still soooo sleepy right now. teheee!

*and oh by the way, the stumbleupon link will lead u to my page, hihi. Create an account there and let's be friends and share favorites and pray for World Peace. ayt!

Back to Reality

I'm back in the city and my 3-day vacation/medical check up was worth it. This post is even late because I focused more on unwinding thus my absence from the blogging world. Allow me to tell you more about my vacation.

I have told you that we went to a resort right? so here are the pics since I was not able to upload it back home.

more pictures here

On Sunday, I told myself to stay away from the computer but I was weak. Well, I didn't blog though, I just checked my mails. Indeed, the Internet is already part of my life. We're like peas in a pod.

Day 3, we went to the doctor and found out that I have acid reflux and that I have to have my esophagus checked for the lumps because the doctor said that I might have goiter. Well-la-de-da. I'm sick again! tsk! tsk! tsk! Just a year after my major hospitalization and here I am again. I'm taking medication right now because as the doctor said "my throat is parched, burned as a matter of fact." So this means, no more kamikaze for me and any other cocktail. *sob
