Last Song Syndrome
On my way home this morning, i had one song playing in my head "freak me" by another level. I opted to listen to old skul while working because honestly, I am already tired of listening to the latest songs that grow old in just a week. Anyway, when I got home, I sang out loud the following lyrics "let me lick u up and down till u stay stop, let me play with your body baby till u feel hot, let me do all the things u want me to do" then I stopped. Good thing I am alone or else someone would really think I've gone bonkers. hahahah
I thought that songs today are too vulgar, full of profanities and sexual innuendos. But if you look back, you can find a lot of songs that are already into this genre or whatever it's called. It had me thinking, music is different from films. Music is everywhere. Meaning, all people from age 1 to 92 can hear it and eventually have it chiseled unto the very depths of their amygdala. I've seen on MTV a tribute to beepers. You know, the one responsible for beeping off sexually explicit words. Truly, I admire them. I can't imagine how hard it is for them to screen songs from the likes of Eminem, Akon, or from any other artists who are too lazy to explore their poetic side and thought of using explicit words just to make it rhyme. Its what they call the art of poetic experiment. I call it the lack thereof. What I am afraid of is the time my two young nieces bombard with with questions regarding these songs. Oh they love to dance alright and dance tracks nowadays as we know it, won't be a dance track if it won't contain the F word. I wonder how am I goin to answer them if one day they'll ask me. Hmm, I think I'd rather tell them beforehand or else they'll find the meaning and more on the Net.

I agree with you that is the culture of today. Everything has profanity in it from movies to songs to tv programs.
